This is my 6th tattoo. I got it in memory of my 4 great grandmothers. I grew up with all 4 of them and they all died within a year of each other (when i was 22).
The sparrows always return to the same location when the migrate. In addition, once they find a mate they always keep them. As a maritime/sailing tradition it symbolizes that no matter how far a sailor travels, they will return home and be faithful.
This tattoo is by Wes Schulz at DreamsCollide in Lancaster, PA

This is my anchor tattoo. I mostly got it because of the book “It’s kind of a funny story” and the way the main character has what he calls “anchors”, which are the things in life he loves and enjoys or things that keep him going. I got mine to remind me of all the reasons to keep living, and everything that has helped me to survive. (theres-no-shame-in-drifting.tumblr.com)

This is my second and third tattoo. They represent my 2 cats that I love to death. Fritz died last year and Stanley is alive and well. They’re like my babies and I wanted to make sure I never forget them. Done at Ink Stainz Tattoo in Jax, FL.

These toes/fingers are killing me.

“All good things are wild and free.” - Henry Thoreau. This is my first tattoo, and it symbolizes my countless struggles. After almost loosing everything, including my life, I realized that there are greater things to life than what I was doing. This tattoo reminds me everyday to just be myself, and most of all to be free.

“I am I am I am” from The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. The text is in Sylvia Plath’s handwriting from her other book, Ariel. I am beyond in love with everything about this.

This was my first tattoo (photographed while it was still healing), and is definitely my favorite. Growing up, Where The Sidewalk Ends was my first introduction to Shel Silverstein, who’s work opened me up to the world of art and poetry. I carried the book with me everywhere and traced all of the pictures until I could draw them on my own. I’m very proud of this tattoo and what it means to me, and many thanks go to the amazing Cameron Pomery in St. Petersburg, FL for giving me this beautiful piece of art and making it an awesome experience for me.

a tattoo that my girlfriend and i got to symbolize our promise to love each other “infinitely.” we didn’t want to do names or dates… because we didn’t want to jinx anything or regret anything in the future… if ever.
